In Memoriam: Lance Minor
On July 16, 2019, our law partner and friend, Lancelot Longstreet Minor, passed away after a brief struggle with cancer at age 70.
Lance was a lifelong Memphian, devoted Christian and family man, talented lawyer, avid tennis player, and ever-optimistic Ole Miss fan. On a personal level, he was engaging, kind, and fun to be with. He will be sorely missed.
Lance joined the firm in 1994 and focused his practice on business transactions, banking law, and litigation and other dispute resolution. Professionally, he was recognized with distinction by Best Lawyers in America, Mid-South Super Lawyers, and Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. He co-founded and was general counsel for Enterprise Bank, which later merged with Cadence Bank, N.A. For many years he served in various leadership roles at First Evangelical Church, Memphis Rotary Club, and Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc.
Concerned that his clients who relied on him would continue to receive prompt and appropriate legal counsel, Lance directed reassignment of his active files to other lawyers at Bourland Heflin Alvarez Minor & Matthews. If you had an active file handled by Lance, you should have received a letter from the firm with information on such reassignment. If not, please feel free to contact the firm at 901-683-3526.
Lance‘s family includes his wife Mary and five adult children. They have directed that any memorials be sent to Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc., 785 Jackson Avenue, Memphis, TN 38107, or First Evangelical Church, 735 Ridge Lake Blvd., Memphis, TN 38120.
